Although some information revealed in the documentary remains merely as claims, one cannot deny that conservation of oceans is of utmost importance in order to guarantee the future of our planet!<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>Why is marine life of great importance?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>First and foremost, marine food chain has been in peril which is extremely undesirable as significant loss in the chain might cause great danger. Seaspiracy presents a considerably useful example in order for us to deeply understand the gravity of the situation. As we are all quite aware that seabirds feed on fish. Predator fish drive the shoals of tiny bait fish to the surface, and this circulation help seabirds catch their food easily. Removing predator fish from this equation, in other words overfishing, will impact the food supply of seabirds adversely, hence their chance of survival. Seaspiracy highlights the fact that the abundance of seabirds has decreased by nearly 70% since the 1950s, which correlates directly with deterioration of marine habitats, as well as overfishing.<\/p>\r\n<p>The future of our planet also depends on the sustainability of the oceans. As it can be seen from such striking facts, protecting the ocean is extremely of the essence when it comes to our collective fight to defeat global warming.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>How fishing methods affect marine populations?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>It would be wise to highlight the fact that what we would like to draw attention here is uniquely the industrialised fishing methods. Speaking of which, bycatch is among the most utilized commercial fishing practices across the globe. It aims to harvest fish, whereas some other marine species, such as dolphins, sharks, whales, marine plants, and so on, are also caught accidentally in fishing nets in addition to target species. Such unintentionally caught species are however not being released back into the ocean when they are still alive. The vast majority of them suffer and end up dying in fishing boats. Researches presume that approximately 40% of sea creatures that are caught by bycatch fishing method are being thrown back in the ocean and more often than not without the chance of survival. In fact, it is estimated that more than 300,000 dolphins and whales, as well as over 50 million sharks die annually due to unacceptable bycatch fishing practice.<\/p>\r\n<p>Seaspiracy also encourages the audience, who believes that industrial fish farming method could be a secure and sustainable environment for marine life, to revisit their thoughts\/practices. Accordingly, the truth is enabling fish production in fish farms requires in fact more fish.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>How can we contribute to a positive change?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>It begs the question, is sustainable fishing possible at all? The answer is clear: sustainable fishing is <strong><em>not <\/em><\/strong>achievable though <strong><em>industrialised fishing methods<\/em><\/strong>. At Green Schools Green Future, we contemplate to build sustainable fish farms in which obviously no fish goes to waste as it is the case in all commercial fishing practices. In our green schools, our curriculum includes teaching the students sustainable fish farming and its importance for the future of our planet. This way, we don\u2019t only build sustainable fish farms, but also sustainable minds that will keep creating sustainable projects in the future. What is more sustainable than this?<\/p>\r\n<p>[gdlr_divider type=&#8221;solid&#8221; size=&#8221;80%&#8221; ]<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>L\u2019IMPORTANCE DE LA VIE MARINE ET LA POSSIBILIT\u00c9 DE P\u00caCHE DURABLE<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Depuis la sortie de l&#8217;impressionnant documentaire Netflix \u201cSeaspiracy\u201d, cela pourrait \u00eatre l&#8217;un des sujets les plus discut\u00e9s en ligne: <strong><em>la p\u00eache durable est-elle possible?<\/em><\/strong> Seaspiracy souligne de nombreux faits ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nalement importants et alarmants en ce qui concerne la vie marine, ainsi que les m\u00e9thodes de p\u00eache commerciale. Par cons\u00e9quent, prot\u00e9ger <strong>le premier niveau<\/strong> signifie d\u2019emp\u00eacher que chaque niveau de la cha\u00eene alimentaire marine ne s&#8217;\u00e9teigne pas.<\/p>\r\n<p>La conservation de l&#8217;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me marin n&#8217;affecte pas uniquement la cha\u00eene alimentaire marine. Comme nous le savons tous, les oiseaux marins se nourrissent de poissons. Les poissons pr\u00e9dateurs poussent les bancs de petits poissons-app\u00e2ts \u00e0 la surface et cette circulation aide les oiseaux marins \u00e0 attraper facilement leur nourriture. Retirer les poissons pr\u00e9dateurs de cette \u00e9quation, autrement dit la surp\u00eache, aura un impact n\u00e9gatif sur l&#8217;approvisionnement alimentaire des oiseaux marins, d&#8217;o\u00f9 leurs chances de survie diminue. M\u00eame si l&#8217;augmentation de l&#8217;\u00e9chelle du boisement peut sembler \u00eatre le meilleur moyen possible de r\u00e9soudre un probl\u00e8me aussi colossal, des solutions alternatives et potentiellement les plus orient\u00e9es vers des solutions pourraient \u00e9galement exister. \u00c0 ce stade, nous devons remarquer le fait que lorsque les dauphins et les baleines remontent \u00e0 la surface pour respirer, ils fertilisent de petites plantes marines dans l&#8217;oc\u00e9an, le phytoplancton, qui absorbe annuellement quatre fois plus de dioxyde de carbone que la for\u00eat Amazonienne, et produit jusqu\u2019\u00e0 85% de l&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne de l&#8217;air. Comme on peut le voir \u00e0 partir de faits aussi frappants, la protection de l&#8217;oc\u00e9an est extr\u00eamement essentielle lorsqu&#8217;il s&#8217;agit de notre combat collectif pour vaincre le r\u00e9chauffement climatique.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>Comment les m\u00e9thodes de p\u00eache affectent les populations marines?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Il serait judicieux de souligner que ce sur quoi nous souhaitons attirer l\u2019attention, ce sont uniquement les m\u00e9thodes de p\u00eache industrialis\u00e9es. D\u2019ailleurs, les captures accessoires font partie des pratiques de p\u00eache commerciale les plus utilis\u00e9es dans le monde. Elles visent \u00e0 tout p\u00eacher alors que certaines autres esp\u00e8ces marines, telles que les dauphins, les requins, les baleines, les plantes marines, etc., sont \u00e9galement captur\u00e9es accidentellement dans les filets de p\u00eache en plus des esp\u00e8ces cibles. Ces esp\u00e8ces captur\u00e9es involontairement ne sont cependant pas rel\u00e2ch\u00e9es dans l&#8217;oc\u00e9an lorsqu&#8217;elles sont encore vivantes. La grande majorit\u00e9 d&#8217;entre elles meurent dans des bateaux de p\u00eache. L&#8217;aliment n&#8217;est pas seulement excessivement transform\u00e9, mais est \u00e9galement compos\u00e9 de farine de poisson s\u00e9ch\u00e9e et d&#8217;huile de poisson extraite, ce qui n\u00e9cessite une immense quantit\u00e9 de poisson \u00e0 produire.
